Commercial lawyer Wolfgang Hummel represents employees of the PCK Schwedt refinery in their dispute with the federal government. He is very familiar with the situation on the ground and talks about the federal government’s failure, political ignorance and the loss of economic rationality.
Since 2022, the PCK refinery has been under compulsory administration because Russian oil can no longer be imported due to sanctions.
Thousands of jobs are at stake, and the region is in danger of sliding into economic ruin – while the federal government focuses on “moral foreign policy”.
