You're waiting for a collapse that's already happened. A plane with insufficient fuel has already crashed, it just hasn't hit the ground yet. The fiat monetary system didn't fail yesterday or tomorrow; it failed the moment its foundation was laid. Everything you see; the skyscrapers, the markets, the manufactured stability, is a corpse still twitching.
Some of us are waiting for the fiat system’s total collapse before a Bitcoin standard can be established. The problem with this thinking is twofold: it assumes humans are rational beings operating at full capacity 24/7, always learning from their mistakes, and it assumes the collapse is just around the corner, yet far away; imminent, obvious, unmistakable.
The harsh truth is that madness in crowds is not an anomaly; it’s the default. It is is more common than we’d like to believe, more persistent throughout human history than we’d dare admit. People rarely learn from their mistakes, and societies almost never course-correct, even after the damage has already been done. Why else does history always rhyme?
Here’s the uncomfortable truth, the collapse has already happened. We’re just living in the early phase where the average person can’t see it yet. Let me use a deliberately crazy analogy. A plane that takes off with insufficient fuel has already crashed. It may not be obvious during takeoff. It may fly smoothly for hours without issue. Passengers may sip their drinks, confident in the competence of the cockpit, however the moment does come when reality intrudes and the aircraft eventually falls from the sky. The crash was always inevitable; it’s only the recognition of the crash that’s delayed.
The same applies to the fiat monetary system and everything built upon it. When the foundation is flawed, it makes no difference what kind of structure you erect on top, skyscraper or shanty, the result is the same. It will collapse. Not might. Will.
The collapse has already happened. Everything fiat money has touched is crumbling or slowly fracturing. Empires, like monetary systems, don’t collapse in a single day, even if we can always point to a moment in history when the collapse was set in motion, when the wrong turn was taken, when the crack appeared in the foundation.
If you’re waiting for a cataclysmic collapse, some extinction-level event that announces itself with sirens and fire, you’ll be waiting a very long time. Even if it does happen tomorrow, what guarantee do you have that the same central planners won’t attempt to resurrect their Tower of Fiat Babel? Rest assured, they will. Human hubris trumps rationality 100% of the time when power and wealth are at stake. While in hindsight, historians can point to the day the decline began, people living through it almost never recognize it in real time.
Don’t be fooled by the tall skyscrapers, the running trains, the semblance of a functioning society. Look deeper. Families are disintegrating. The money is failing. Degeneracy is profitable. Decency shunned. Fashion grows uglier. Architecture turns soulless. Propaganda saturates everything. Disease management replaces cures for profit. Societies fracture along manufactured lines. Taxes rise. Politicos are gangsters in suits. Fertility declines. Chronic illness spreads. We have fake jobs, fake inflation numbers, fake friends, fake food, fake innovation, fake markets, fake heroes, fake crises, and increasingly… fake people. Fake layered upon fake layered upon fake.
How can such a society stand? Hasn’t it already collapsed? It has. It’s just not obvious yet, and no you can’t vote your way out of this.
It may take a century or more before the inevitable fully manifests, before the rot becomes undeniable even to the willfully blind. That said, the silver lining in this civilizational decay is recognizing the signs beforehand and starting to build the Ark before the rain begins.
The time to build on a Bitcoin standard is now, because the collapse has already happened. The seeds were planted long ago, starting in 1913 when the central banking cartel was born. The harvest is coming in. If we don’t plant different seeds now, we will absolutely go down with the Titanic. The water is already pouring in below deck. The band is still playing. Most passengers are still dancing.
Don’t wait. Don’t hesitate. Just build.
