Open Source Privacy Apps for DeGoogled Phones

This list of open source privacy apps helps you drop Big Tech ecosystems and apps, and can aid you in keeping your private data out of the hands of the Palantirs. (aka Big Tech & 3-Letters).

Here is a list of tried and tested FOSS apps that you can use to replace OEM apps.

This list has been updated for 2026 with new working links to the app stores Android. There are also many added apps that have been discovered and/or recommended by fellow DeGoogled phone users.

For this list you need to:

  1. To get sync working, self-host your own Nextcloud, and use apps listed below for syncing contacts, fileshare, calendar, notes, tasks, etc.

  2. Install these App Stores:

  1. Use the listed apps below to replace OEM Googled apps.

  2. Install DAVx5 and use it to sync Nextcloud contacts, calendar, etc. with you phone.

To reduce Google’s data collection on non DeGoogled phone, remove or disable the currently installed apps that came with your phone, and then install, set up, and use a corresponding app from the list below.
